This project attempts to deconstruct the common snapshots of travels through Iraq. Reproducing the photographs also reproduces memories that become a part of the illusion of the physical space depicted in a painting. The repetition of the illusion in the historical medium of paint demands a further questioning of the "reality" of the image and hence complicates an assertive narrative.
